The Athens Metro is a network of underground, above-ground and above-ground urban railways of Attica and specifically the areas of the Metropolitan area of Athens.
The Athens metro network consists of 3 lines, with a total of 64 stations. At European level, the Athens metro is in 17th place and at the Balkan level in 2nd place after Istanbul.
The ongoing development project of the Athens Metro network has been undertaken by the public interest company Attiko Metro.
